Homeopathy - Homeopathic Doctor
Homeopathy was developed in the eighteenth century by physician Samuel Hahnemann.
The word homeopathy comes from the Greek word “Homoios” meaning similar and “pathos” meaning disease.   Its philosophy is one of “like cures like”.  This means that homeopathy heals the illness by stimulating the body’s own innate healing system to fight the illness naturally.

Small doses of diluted plant, animal and mineral substances effectively stimulate the mind and body’s ability to heal itself, thereby increasing the patients overall vitality.  It can be used to treat a wide variety of conditions such as PMS, menstrual irregularities, menopausal hot flashes, anxiety, colds, coughs, sore throat, flu, allergies, eczema, arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.  Homeopathy is a gentle tool that can be used on everyone with little or no side effects.  It can even be used with children, during pregnancy and post partum while women are breastfeeding.

A thorough health history and intake is necessary to determine the appropriate remedy for you. Careful attention must be paid to all aspects of the illness.  For example, to choose the appropriate homeopathic remedy to treat a cough, your Naturopathic Doctor will ask many detailed questions about the cough such as: Is it a dry or wet cough?  What makes the cough better? What makes the cough worse? What time of day is the cough worse? What time of day is the cough better? Is the cough better with cold or warm drinks? Is the cough better inside or outside?  All of these pieces of information, along with extensive medical training, a comprehensive physical exam, diagnostic tests and knowledge of evidence based medicine assist the Naturopathic Doctor in choosing the right remedy for you!
